Is there any way to stop the DM popup link from appearing? It's kind of annoying and also slows down the page load. I would much rather prefer if there was just an icon in the forum menu or something indicating that you have receive a DM.

When you get a DM, you get a notification at the top right corner. Everytime you browse or refresh the forum, this popup notification has to be loaded so there is a noticable sluggishness of the page load. There should be a better way to notify users of DM.

The new option will be added in the next update of the wpForo Private Messages addon (no ETA yet).
@danniee This is a big problem I have. I have over 2k messages in my inbox now. So anytime I get a new PM, it makes the page load 30 seconds longer than sual at least! I hope it gets fixed soon. I am not the only on with this issue it seems
Really hoping to see the new update for this because it's really frustrating how much the DM popup slows down the forum load time.
Been over three months and still no fix to this. The DM popup is a big mess, slowing down page load significantly. Should be easy to fix?
Installed it and tried it and it's a big step forward. Now when I get a DM it doesn't slow down the whole site. However, would it be possible to make the DM notifications stand out a little bit more? I tend to get hundreds of notifications and the DM notifications drown with the other ones. Just a suggestion. Thank you.
