Hi, I just installed your plugin, it seems to ignore the setting in dashboard>discussion>Email Me ==> Anyone posts a comment. No matter what is selected, it sends a notification to the poster. Is there anyway to disable this in the code directly?

Thanks

Hi ghosted,

It seems you've been subscribed to all comments on the post. In this case, you need to cancel subscriptions using the “My Content and Settings” button.

Please read this doc:

https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-documentation/settings/email-subscription/#cancel_own_subscriptions

Hi Astghik

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I'm actually not subscribed at all, I even cleared the subscription table in the db to see if that was the issue. It seems like it's not recognizing the setting of the checkbox in wordpress -> discussions and is just defaulting to email the poster on any comment. I love the plugin but it's been acting really strange, initially the mails were working on subscriptions, then they all just stopped. the only thing i can think of is that there is a random prefix on my database tables that may be causing an issue, but that seems really bizarre that would be the cause no?

Thanks again

Hi @ghosted,

Could you please leave an example of that email content and subject? I think this is not wpDiscuz email at all. Also please leave some URL and explain what you mean saying " it sends a notification to the poster"? Does it send email to Users, article authors or just guests?

Hi Tom,

It's the wordpress discussion notification email. It sends an email to the author of the post (me) for any comment posted, even though in dashboard > settings > discussions it is disabled, and my user is not subscribed to anything. This only happens when discuz is enabled. If i disable the plugin, the site uses the correct discussion email setting. I have already tried removing , cleaning the site and reinstalling the plugin to no avail.

...to the author of the post (me)....

This is the most important thing we need to understand the issue. So the issue is only related to the Article Author? We'll check this and update soon.

It doesn't matter the Discussion Email setting is turned off or not. You'll receive email if you have wpDiscuz subscription (subscribed on front-end using wpDiscuz subscription options). It seems the Author of the Post is subscribed to own post using wpDiscuz Subscription options. Please make sure you don't have wpDiscuz subscriptions. Go through all subscriptions options and Unsubscribe from all them. More info in doc:

Hi Tom, there are no subscriptions, i have even gone as far to remove everything from the database table. I'm not sure what else the problem can be. As i mentioned its the stereotypical wordpress email that is sent when the setting in core is turned on. Also it seems like any subscription email stopped working before i deleted the table contents in phpmyadmin. Not really sure what to do to trouble shoot this at this point.
