Ok, i see where it says the add ons are not activated but this is what it says under it

Please do not activate this plugin if you are on local host (127.0.0.1) or you use IP address to access to WordPress website.
This plugin should only be activated if WordPress is located in WEB under a real domain name.
If you have an issue with plugin activation please contact us via support@gvectors.com email address.
Please do not forget to send order number and activation key.

Which honestly I don't know what that means. I did try the activation key number on my account page but it told me that that key doesn't exist. So now I'm really confused.

Also, both addons show as installed and we have use of them in the forum already so I'm not sure what "activating" them will do.

Plus I'm still wondering about updating if they haven't been tested on our version.

We are hosted through Bluehost. Does that help? I'm not that savvy about some of this.

Please activate it to get updates. If you moved your website to another domain just contact as and we'll reset your activation allowing you to activate it again.

But can you answer my question about the updates not being tested with our version of WordPress. I don't want to update and then have problems.... When will the testing happen? Or are the risks minimal? Thanks.

First make sure you use wpForo 1.7.0 version,

Then activate and update the PM addon.

All will work fine.

We just installed the activation keys for wpForo Advanced Attachments and wpForo Private Messages.
However, now when we try to update those 2 plugins, we get erro messages:

"Update Failed: Update package not available.”
from the Plugins page, or

"An error occurred while updating wpForo Advanced Attachments: Update package not available.”
from the updates page.

Please advise.

I don't understand why you're getting this issue. This is a very smooth process which is being done by dozens of our customers per day. I believe something is wrong with your server configuration or you have a security plugin which stop cross-server requests for downloading the package.

I have had this problem... I have a test site & a live site.  Only one site can be configured for automatic updates, so if on the WP Dashboard you clicked the "update Private Messaging..." box (can't remember exact language & it no longer displays), then that site is the only one that will use automatic update. For me, that's my live site.  In order to update the test site, I have to manually download the update package, install it & then test.  If you are using a simliar set up, you'll have the same issue.  Of course, now I'm trying to locate the update package & have no clue where it is (my license key is still active).
