I've created a new emoticon group, then tried to attach an animated gif emoticon and get the error above. I can upload the gif file just fine into the WordPress media library, but not via the emoticons addon area.

Hi @harnessmedia,

For testing reason please try upload another type of images (e.g. jpg), not gif.

It seems you're not allowed to create a new folder. Please check the Numeric valueof the folder and make sure it is set 755.

More info here:

https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/ftp/change-permissions/

Also please check and let us know is there a new folder created in the /wp-content/uploads/wpforo/emoticons directory. The folder is called a new emoticon group you've created.

All of the folders are currently set to 755. It did automatically create my new folder for me with 755 permissions. I've just tried to upload a jpg and a png and neither would work.

Is there a way for me to manually add them?
