Hi there,

unfortunately the plugin is just not working on my Wordpress Installation with WP4.5.1.

Adding a comment as an administrator with an 120kb image file, the uploader gif in the upper right corner is running forever, then after 5 minutes or so it publishes the comment without image. There is no picture in my wp-content/upLoad folder. I'm on Version 1.0.6 and have no idea how to fix the issue.

Many thanks

Joerg

Hi Joerg,

  • Make sure there is no conflict with other plugins, please deactivate those.
  • If you have some security plugin which block all kind of accesses to /wp-content/ or wp--content/uploads/ folder please disable those.
  • Make sure you can upload  the same GIF file through WordPress Media Uploader.
  • And please leave some URL to allow us inspect front-end issues.

Hi Tom,

many thanks for your quick response. I'll check on potential errors through other plugins, but can only do that on an updated test environment, so this will take a while. No other security plugins are activated, I have given all user groups access to use the mediauploader and can upload jpegs and gifs through the WordPress Mediauploader just fine. You may want to check the frontend under: http://www.joergermeister.de

Any other ideas to get the plugin working are highly appreciated.

Many thanks upfront

Best

Joerg

Ok, we see Server 500 Error on AJAX uploading process. Something blocks file upload process into /wp-content/uploads/ folder.

This is a Server and WP specific issue. We need Dashboard admin access to be able find and fix this issue. Please send admin login details to support[at]gvectors.com email address.

Also this isn’t often the cause, but may happen that file permission for WordPress, plugins, and themes, who  need to be set at 755 for folders, and 644 for files, may be set differently. It is not a good idea to think that setting permissions more loosely, like 777, or on contrary setting permissions too strict, will relieve the problem. It can actually often cause this and other errors.

Hi Tom,

awsome. I have established an admin account for you, you will be notified by WP directly.

Thanks for putting the file permissions on the table. After seeing the media upload not working, I actually have changed the file permissions for the wp-content/uploads folder to 777. However, as the problem persisted, I have changed back to 755 for folders, and 644 for files. So this should be covered.

Again many thanks for looking into the issue
