Hello! I need to allow unauthorized guests to leave reviews. How can I do this? Please help.

When I try to vote for a comment, it says: You cannot vote for this comment. This probably shouldn't be the case.

We are already working on this feature, and guest reviews have now been added to the addon. It will be available very soon in the next release.

Good news — guest reviews are available in wpDiscuz Reviews 1.1.0. You'll find the
switch in the addon settings under Access → "Allow guest reviews". It's off by
default, so nothing changes on your site until you turn it on.
A few things worth knowing before you do:
- Guest reviews always wait for approval. They're held for moderation no matter
what the review gate for that post type is set to. There's no account behind a
guest review, so a human should see it before it moves the rating average.
- Guests can't edit their review after submitting. The edit option stays for
logged-in reviewers only — there's no reliable way to confirm that a logged-out
visitor is the same person who left the review. You can still edit or delete any
review from the Comments screen in the dashboard.
- An email address is required. A guest review submitted without one is refused.
The address is what identifies the review for the duplicate check and for data
export requests.
- One review per email address per post — but treat this as a courtesy check
rather than a barrier. The address is self-asserted, so nothing stops the same
person reviewing again from a different one. Moderation is the real control.
- A returning guest sees an empty form, not their earlier review. This is
deliberate: we don't look the review up from the browser's commenter cookie,
because reviews awaiting approval aren't public and anyone could type someone
else's address to read theirs back.
- Your existing restrictions still apply. Allowed post types and taxonomy rules
work the same for guests. Allowed roles and the minimum comment count don't
apply — a guest has neither of those.
