I updated the plugins to the most recent version last night and noticed my readers stopped commenting today. I usually get a lot of comments on articles. Anyway, I took a look at the comment form and realized it disappeared and is now replaced with a single line that reads "Join the discussion" without any of the other information to show someone what to do that used to be there w/ the outline of the form.

How can I fix this?

It seems, you have some js error.
Please activate wpDiscuz. Then Delete all caches and purge CDN then do Ctrl+F5 on front-end.
