When I change this option in addon - private messages - Min number of forum posts user must have - to 0 and save - upon refresh it reverts back to 5.

Hi @xmla,
Please save it again, then go to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page and click the [Delete all caches] button, then check the option value again.
