On my forum, Authors can see the drop-down cross-post box, but the dropdown does not work, and he cannot cross-post to a selected forum.
However, Administrator can cross-post with no issues. The drop-down box showing all the forums can be seen and selected.

@kylew but wouldn't it make sense for Authors also to have that permission if we want to increase community interactions?
Maybe wpforo can provide an option to allow the admin to determine WHO can cross post in the settings.
wpForo doesn't control the Cross Post part, if the User Role Users have the availability to edit posts, then that User Role Users can also Use the Cross Post field in the Edit Post Page.
