Hello,
I’m having an issue activating my wpForo add-ons.
I have purchased the add-ons and entered the activation key correctly in the wpForo admin panel, but when I try to activate them, I always get the following error message:
Something went wrong: cURL error 28: Failed to connect to gvectors.com port 443: Connection timed out
Additional details:
* The add-ons are installed and enabled in WordPress
* The problem occurs only when entering the activation key
* My hosting provider is Infomaniak
* Outbound HTTPS connections should normally be allowed
* No firewall rule has been intentionally added on my side
It looks like my server cannot reach gvectors.com on port 443, but I’m not sure whether this is:
* a hosting-related issue,
* a temporary connectivity issue,
* or something specific to the activation process.
Could you please advise on:
* required server settings (PHP, cURL, SSL, firewall, IP whitelist, etc.)
* or an alternative/manual way to activate the license if needed?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
Aïmata

Hi,

The reason for this problem could be one of the following:

  1. You have a security plugin that blocks requests from addons to gvectors.com. I recommend disable all security plugins and test it again.
  2. There may be network routing issues or blacklists affecting only certain IP ranges. Some services (like certain cloud providers) may have their own outbound restrictions. So please connect to your hosting support and make sure gvectors.com is not blocked by them.
  3. You website could be blocked by our system. however we've done a deep check and didn't found any limitation or data related to your website domain and IP address. Please let us know when you'll check the first two points.
