I bought this plugin one year ago and I can no longer use it, I got this message:

Your subscription to this product is expired, license key is no longer valid, please purchase new license.

This plugin is really cool and I like it, but when I bought it, my understanding was that the license is perpetual, and that I had to renew only if I wanted to get updates.

So what is the right understanding of your licensing terms?

Also, some other questions related to the fact I use a domain based WP multisite install.

Do I need to buy a license for each site or can I buy a single license for all sites of this multisite install?

What is the delailed process for installing and activating on a multisite install?

Are all your plugins compatible with a domain based WP multisite install?

Yes, that's correct. You can continue to use that until it works with current wpDiscuz version. You only need to get the license for future updates. You can disable the Message which says the license is expired if you don't want to renew. But we don't guarantee tat the last version you have will always be compatible with future Wordpress and wpDiscuz versions. If you keep the current WP and wpDiscuz versions you can use it forever.

The Single Site license is not compatible for multisites. You can't activate it on unlimited number of subsites. If the subSites are under the same domain it may allow you three activations (subDirectory type of milti-site installation). So it's better to get 10 Sites License for multisite website.
