Hey there

I have been looking for a more feature rich comments system that keeps things local to the site and wpDiscuz seems like the correct candidate.

I have installed the plugin, added the code for buddyPress and flushed my caches and I am getting an error above the comments area on all pages that says:

Warning: strlen() expects parameter 1 to be string, object given in **ROOT**/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 2891

I currently have the plugin turned off but I was hoping to get some help with how to resolve this issue and get the plugin up and running.

Hi @rpgmp3,

We didn't find such an issue on our test websites. Could you please deactivate all plugins (except wpDiscuz and BuddyPress), switch to default theme and check again?

Hey there

Thanks for the help - it was a buddyPress plugin called "BuddyPress First Letter Avatar" that appears to be causing the issues. With it disabled wpDiscuz works great.

It was really a cosmetic app. I have switch on monster Gravatars and we are good.
