Hi there,

I just installed the add-on for Private message, I have been testing it but I'm not receiving an email notification for new private message. Any specific setup necessary?

Thanks

Please make sure the PM receiver is not online. Online receivers don't get email notification. Only offline users get email notification.

1. Make sure the Email Notification is enabled in PM settings. The settings page is located in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Addons > Private Messages Tab.

wpForo PM Email Notification

2. Make sure the Email Notification button is turned on for the conversation you're currently testing.

wpForo Private Messages manage email notification per conversation

3. Make sure you receive emails from WordPress and wpForo. This may be a global email sending issue.

4. Test it using other users and emails.

Thanks for the answer.

I have check everything you mentioned, email notification in addons is enabled and the Email Notification button is also on on conversations on both sides.

I have tested topic subscription and I do receive those email notifications every time a new topic is being posted. And I do receive email from wordpress.

I logged out I tested sending messages with several email accounts and checked spam folders but I do not receive any email notification every time a message is being received.

Anything else I can do?

@florent-garcia,

Could you please send the admin login details to info[at]gvectors.com email address? I'll ask the developers to check the issue.

@florent-garcia,

We've received the email notification. Everything is working fine: https://www.screencast.com/t/XcCP77JxP

Simply the value of the "Online status timeout" option was set 15 minutes. And test it imminently after logged out or the time was less than 15 minutes.

BTW: I've reduced the value to 3 minutes before testing. Please keep this value and test it yourself. Just make sure you've written PM after 3 minutes.
