Hello wpDiscuz Support,
We are experiencing an issue with comment form visibility for a custom WordPress role.
Environment:
- WordPress
- Elementor Pro
- wpDiscuz
- Members plugin
- Custom role:
k_member
Problem:
Users with the custom role k_member can see the comments area and are recognized as logged-in users, but the wpDiscuz comment editor/form does not appear.
Administrators can comment normally.
What we checked:
- Comments are enabled on the post (
Open for commentsis checked). - wpDiscuz is active and working correctly for admins.
- The custom role has the basic
readcapability. - In:
wpDiscuz → User Roles and Badges
the rolek_memberis enabled under:
“Show comment form for post types”. - The issue occurs on newly created posts as well.
- The user is logged in successfully and wpDiscuz recognizes the user name in the comments area.
- We checked for obvious Elementor visibility conditions and did not find any.
Current behavior:
- Logged-in custom-role users see:
“You are logged in as…”
and the comments counter. - But the actual comment textarea/editor is missing.
Question:
Does wpDiscuz require additional capabilities or configuration for custom roles created with the Members plugin?
Is there a known limitation or compatibility issue with custom roles and comment form visibility?
Thank you.
