I don't know where to post this, but it has been very confusing. Can someone please put it in its proper forum?

A lot of times, when reading instructions on posts, it states that you need to clear the cache.

As a beginner, I get confused. Can someone explain how to do this properly?

1. Clear browser cache.  Needed?

browser cache

2. In Wpforo overview...

WpForo overview

There are many options. The first one you see when scrolling down the overview page is this. Can someone explain these in detail?

1 st cache

3. When further scrolling down the overview page, there are these options

2nd cache

Some of these are self-explanatory, but would somebody please take the time to explain each one and maybe make this topic a sticky to make it simple for people like me who don't really understand the cachet process?

4. At the top of the page, there is another option; it usually says cache, I believe. I am using the W3 cache plug-in, so it says Performance. Note that I did exclude wpforo links when setting this up.

3rd cache

So, when someone says to clear the cache. What does that mean, and how do you do it properly?

Thank you, and it is very appreciated.

Hi,

Firstly, refreshing the browser cache is necessary to update CSS and JS files. Simply pressing CTRL + F5 on the frontend will accomplish this.

Regarding the second and third points, the buttons' names indicate their purpose. For example, 'Update forum statistics' refreshes data in the forum footer section, while 'Delete phrase caches' should be clicked after modifying a phrase, and so on.

As for the last point, it's important to exclude wpForo from your cache plugin settings. For more information, please visit: https://wpforo.com/community/faq/wpforo-and-cache-plugins/.

Thank you for all the info, everyone. Pro support updated the plug-in for me. They are awesome. I am still a bit confused about the cache, but I am getting a better understanding. I still suggest someone does a video explaining this complete process. It would be very helpful. you can close this topic and mark it as solved.

A sincere thank you to everyone!
