Hey, Tom -- that's amazing!

I'll check out adding the GDPR checkbox on wpDiscuz, and will set about looking for an alternative for WP SpamShield that will do what's necessary without crashing everything around it.

Once I get everything running and stable, I'd be happy to do a post about my experience with you guys on my blog. Nothing like a free endorsement... 🙂 Let me know if you'd be interested.

Thanks again. I'll get organized, reset the password, etc.

Thank you very much @digiquill, glad to help you.

We'd really appreciate if you could leave some good review on wpDiscuz plugin page.

Hey, Tom. I've left you and gVectors a glowing review, and I think I'm still going to do up a nice blog post. Will send you a link when it's up and running. Now, I'm off to find a caching plugin and an anti-spam plugin that will work with what I've got.

I'll be in touch... 😉

My pleasure.

Interesting. Today, I went to check back in (not logged in) to see if everything was working. I found wpDiscuz working like a charm (yeah!), but of course, Contact Form 7 was still out to lunch, I pulled it and replaced it with a WP Forms Lite contact form, and that now works perfectly as well.

However, I did find one very odd glitch on every blog post, now that wpDiscuz is running. As you saw, I have a box at the top of each post with required affiliate disclosure and pointers to my ToS and Privacy Policy. When I went back in, I discovered that I now have a near-identical disclaimer immediately above the box with the current affiliate disclosure.

It appears on every post, but it isn't part of the content area text -- I checked. I inspected the page elements, and it's part of a paragraph entry that's somehow tied to the automatically inserted page title. I was able to find the offending text by visiting a post online and the inspecting the extra disclaimer (around line 307). I could find it with the inspector, but I have no idea how to delete it. I'm guessing I'll have to find a way to do this on every page, since I have no idea why whatever fixed the wpDiscuz problem would have magically stuck this in every post. It isn't on normal pages, either -- just posts.

Ideas or suggestions?

Thanks, Tom. I'll keep mucking around with it while waiting to hear from you.

Hey, Tom.

Looks like you can ignore my last note about the weird glitch. The support folks at Bluehost have apparently sorted it out. They couldn't figure out where the script for the disclaimer was added into the site, but they wrote a script in the dashboard under Appearance, etc, Added CSS, setting meta to none. So the offending script doesn't appear any more.

Back to blogging now...:) I'll get back to you when I've done that post I mentioned.

Hi @digiquill,

As far as I remember you have a GDPR Framework plugin, the settings menu located in Dashboard > Tools > Menu section. There is a Configuration Wizard and Many other settings. I think that box come from this plugin. Also you have a Mailchimp GDPR plugin, it maybe that plugin too. So you should disable all plugins related to GDPR and check.
