I'm concerned that people are going to miss out on this wonderful plugin wpDiscuz because of the proliferation of Wordpress page builders:

I just spent about an hour of time trying to figure out why I couldn't get wpDiscuz comments to load at the bottom of my Wordpress pages. All forum answers led to the same answers:

  1. Make sure "allow comments" is checked at the bottom of the Wordpress page editor
  2. Go into Comments > Forms > default form (the one I am using for pages) and make sure that "pages" is selected as a CPT for that wpDiscuz form.
  3. Make sure comments is set to work on pages with my theme.

All of these were set right. But, what I finally realized was that in my theme Divi by Elegant Themes (which has the pages builder 'Divi Builder' built into the theme), when you use the page builder to build out your page(s), it automatically deactivates the default comments at the bottom. (This was confirmed by support in the Elegant Themes forum)

The only way to get comments to show up in a Divi page-builder page, is to add a "comment" module (block). This works, but when you do this, it doesn't use wpDiscuz comments, it instead uses the 'engine' and formatting built into the comments module of Divi Builder.

I found mentioned in this forum, a couple threads where it was suggested to use a specific php code and place it inside my functions.php page of my child theme. And then I could use a "shortcode" to paste anywhere on my posts/pages to bring up the comments. These seemed perfect, I could just paste that code in a text module in the page builder and then it would come up!

However, I tried this, and I couldn't even get my "page builder" page to save and load correctly. So, I had to remove the php code from my functions page. This doesn't seem to be an option — at least not with Divi.

Other forum posts here on gVectors makes it sound like there is no other way to get comments to show in my situation, and because of the way the plugin is written, it may never work this way. (Please correct me if I'm wrong here)

Divi is a huge player in the page builder game, and more and more website owners are falling for the simplicity and features of these types of plugins. More and more of us are moving to using page builders on some if not all of our pages, and even many of our posts!

Is gVectors working on a process, for those of us using page builders like Divi (where the comments are loading) to allow us to add wpDiscuz comments on these pages?

If not, I'm worried about the future of this plugin, since users like myself would rather not have some pages using one comment style and feature set, and other pages using another.

Thanks for any answers on this.

 Okay. I understand.

Please don't underestimate how many of your customers are already using or starting to use page builders though. This market is growing fast, and if we can't use your plugin(s) for all of our posts and pages, there's a good chance many of us will move on.
