So the normal comments work, but the plugin isn't set to work on Attachment pages. What can I do to manually insert the comment form there? Maybe a PHP shortcode?

Thank you for using wpDiscuz.
There is not any shortcode or simple solution for Attachment Pages. It needs to add some serious changes in plugin core and add a new option to show/hide comment box for attachment page. We've already included this in our to-do list, it'll be available in future versions.
