As discussed in this post on WordPress.org, users are complaining that they cannot post comments because the action to add a comment as a guest on any blog post never completes (returns HTTP 405), which causes the screen to hang with the loading graphic. Since comments are moderated on the site, they never see the comment show up in the list either, even when they refresh.

Here is my list of plugins on the site:

Easy Forms for MailChimp
Gmail SMTP
Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights
HTML Widget Text
Instagram Feed
MailChimp for WordPress
NextGEN Gallery
Search Exclude
ShortPixel Image Optimizer
Social Warfare
Social Warfare - Pro
ThirstyAffiliates
UpdraftPlus - Backup/Restore
W3 Total Cache
Wordfence Security
WP-PageNavi
WP-SpamShield
wpDiscuz
Yoast SE

I don't seem to have any rules that explicitly block AJAX calls, and I still have the problem when I disable WordFence completely. Does that help?

Please deactivate WP-SpamShield plugin and test it again. May be there is an option, which will allow to deactivate  the WP-SpamShield plugin only for comments.

I have tried disabling WP Spam Shield, Social Warfare, W3 Total Cache, and Wordfence all at the same time with no luck.

Could you please send admin login details to support[at]gvectors.com email address? We need admin access to check and fix this problem?

I'm sorry, I'm not really comfortable with that. Is there some information that I can get you with my admin account that will help with troubleshooting?

Some background in case it's relevant: I'm a PHP programmer with about 10 years of PHP experience. Much of that time was spent doing custom WP development on themes and plugins.

Thanks for all the help so far!

Please try to disable all plugins (all, no excerpts) and check it again.
