Are there any plans to make a more traditional profile and header tool instead of the Avatar button? I miss the ease of my buddypress profile changer

Yes, wpForo doesn't have such a feature. However, these two plugins work fine together. You can easily use both on your website. wpForo has an option, that allows you to relace Forum Profile with BuddyPress Profile, it replaces wpForo Member Profile page with BuddyPress Profile Page.
