  [#4428]

Hi guys

Firstly, I am posting here about this issue

https://wpforo.com/community/how-to-and-troubleshooting-2/cant-send-report-email/

In that forum a support guy suggested advice for this specific issue would be provided here rather than there.

I have recently installed wpForo on a brand new WordPress installation on a localhost to evaluate its functionality.

When it comes to reporting posts, I too get a "Can't send report email" error.

This is the current config and settings:

  • The user attempting to report belongs to the "Registered" Groupid
  • In Forum Accesses I have confirmed that "Standard access" 'Can report' checkbox is ticked
  • wpForum is the only plugin enabled in Plugins

wpForo version 1.6.2

WordPress version 5.2.2

Is there anything else I can check?

Thank you

Hi @fawp,

As far as we understand the issue is related to SMTP settings.

Please install the following plugin, check what happens to your emails (via its logs and diagnostics).

https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-smtp/

Thank you @astghik for pointing me in the right direction, I think I have solved the problem.

One more question - when you report somebody through the wpForo report function, does the system send the report email only, or is there a way to enable a notification (e.g. either in the wpForo control panel or via BuddyPress)?

@fawp

Currently, wpForo is only notifying via email.
