Is there a good video that shows how to set up and use embed features?

I have bought 5 addons, this one is driving me crazy 🤣

  1. I want members to be able to embed PDF files. on the "About Me" section of their profile
  2. I also want to allow them to embed videos and photos in that same About Me section
  3. I do not know what options to choose in the settings for embeds.
  4. I have tried links and embed codes. I have tried everything
  5. I want members to be able to embed videos, photos, pdfs in posts.
  6. Should I have Oembeds options turned on or off? in settings?
  7. If a member wants to upload something directly like a PDF, video, or photo, can they do that?

I have been playing with this for hours and have read documentation until my eyeballs are falling out.

I really wish there was a great video covering embeds from start to finish.

I would appreciate a good tutorial, not just some links to documentation. I have read through all of those at least three times.

Many, many thanks to anyone who can assist.

Hi,

The wpForo Embeds addon is designed as a core post content replacer. It checks content provider URLs and replaces to content provider view (video, audio players, social network widgets, etc..).

wpForo Embeds is a 3rd party URL (Youtube, Soundcloud, etc.) embed-er addon.

wpForo Embeds:

Products: https://gvectors.com/product/wpforo-embeds/

Demo: http://addons.wpforo.com/community/wpforo-embeds/wpforo-embeds/

So you just need to insert the URL in the post content and it'll be automaticly replaced.

wpForo Advanced Attachments is a file attachment plugin. It allows attaching multiple files, images, videos, audio and all other file types you’ve allowed in settings.

wpForo Advanced Attachments:

Product: https://gvectors.com/product/wpforo-advanced-attachments/

Demo:  https://addons.wpforo.com/community/wpforo-advanced-attachments/wpforo-advanced-attachments/

I am not too happy right now because I see the answer or the reply to my post and it's very vague and it's already just links to documentation which I've already looked at. This is not sufficient support for a product. Can someone please answer the questions I asked above and give me more detail that would be very helpful

I am very sorry about my response above. I'm frustrated. I truly don't understand why you guys don't do videos and stuff like this, with a step-by-step procedure just explaining the product very well from beginning to end. A 10-minute video would have saved me hours of frustration. Please consider video for future tutorials and explanations, and that's all. I love this product; it is really quite amazing.

@danno61,

Please find the answers below:

I want members to be able to embed PDF files. on the "About Me" section of their profile

The wpForo Embeds and wpForo Advanced Attachments addons are designed to embed and ulpoad the videos, photos, etc in only in the topic/post content, nowhere else.

I also want to allow them to embed videos and photos in that same About Me section

The same here.

I do not know what options to choose in the settings for embeds.

No necessary to choose anything. Just insert the URL in the post content and it'll automaticly be embeded.

I have tried links and embed codes. I have tried everything

Don't follow you well.

I want members to be able to embed videos, photos, pdfs in posts.

The video emneding is shown below. The PDF is not possible to embed.

Should I have Oembeds options turned on or off? in settings?

You should deside yourself. If you enable it, you'll get more embedding options.

If a member wants to upload something directly like a PDF, video, or photo, can they do that?

Below the Topic/Post editor, you will find a button [Browse] – Attach file. Click the [Browse] button and locate the file. Once you have selected a file. This file will automatically be uploaded and attached to this topic/post once topic is submitted.

If you need an advanced features for your forum you should check wpForo Advanced Attachments addon.

The addon allows multiple file uploading and validation system, preview, watch and listen attached images, videos and audios and much more.

@danno61,

I'll ask the developers if it's possible to include the feature in the addon.

Thank you @astgh

Here are the options I have selected in embeds. When I paste a url in a post from rumble, it just shows the link and that is it. No video loaded
