Hi, I have selected a forum in the sidebar settings, but now I cant see how to change it, as I have selected the wrong one. Thanks

Actually I see that if I set to cross posting off, and then update and then reload page, then i could change the related forum. Feature request would be to not have to reload the page, and this changes when update button is clicked

You can just move the topic from the wpForo settings. It'll work fine.
wpForo has "Move topic" and the "Move reply" options for this purpose. The options are located in the upper right corner (Tools), as shown in the screenshot.
