When a user replies on the forum section of a blog post, the cross-posted reply on the blog section does not have paragraph spacing. direct replies on the blog, however, have spacing.

how can I adjust it? you can check it here: Lebanon escapes Gilas Pilipinas in Beirut thriller (bgsm.team)

thanks.

@wafadul,

This could be wpDiscuz plugin issue. I'll ask wpDiscuz devs to check it.

@wafadul,

We've done some checking, this issue is not wpDiscuz nor wpForo Cross-posting addon issue. This is the core WordPress issue. It doesn't add paragraphs to line-breaks in comments, so the comments are handled differently for keeping them as short as possible in vertical direction.

@tomson but it works fine when you comment directly from the blog - paragraph spacing is applied. only when coming from the forum that it is not applied.

what is the explanation for that? thanks.

@wafadul ,

Sure, because wpDiscuz visual editor adds additional paragraphs and line-breaks when you type it.

@tomson so there's no way to fix it thru CSS?

@wafadul ,

No way, because if you set more margin and paddings to <br> it'll affect real one line breaks in other non-crossposted comments. So the solution is not recommended.

also noticed one thing. when you use emoji and giphy on the forum - only the giphy gets carried over to the blog comment section. the emoji is not. that really the behavior?

@wafadul,

Emoji or emoticons? Please always provide example URLs.

@tomson there's a 100 emoji on the forum comment plus a giphy but on the blog comments section the 100 emoji wasn't carried over.

@wafadul,

First, please check your comments table collation using phpMyAdmin plugin or the same tool in your hosting cPanel, if your table collation is not an utf8mb4 then you cannot save emojies in comments, you should contact to your hosting and ask them to change your WordPress installation to utf8mb4:
