We just installed your forum today and are **VERY** impressed with it so far. It looks great and it’s obviously well-developed and thought out.

We purchased the attachments add-on and tried to add images to a post. The attachments are showing up in the attachment library, but are not going into the post. We click on “Attach Files” then “Start Upload” and the images show up in the panel. Then “Insert into post” but there is a spinning icon in the upper right corner of the page that keeps spinning and spinning with no results. We waited a very long time and nothing happened. We had to close the page to stop. We’ve tried with large images (3mb) and with small ones (250k). Same results.

We have no problem uploading images and placing them in regular WP posts and pages, so it would be the wpForo system. Any ideas?

We’re really looking forward to giving you five star rating if we can just get over this hump.

We also have an issue where an attempt to quote another post also had the “working” animated icon spinning and spinning.

Are these related?

Hi David,

I think the rich editor (visual editor) is disabled on your website. The attachment addon only works with visual editor. This problem is caused by the option "Do not use visual editor when writing" in the user profile settings (Dashboard > Users > Edit user).

Also this maybe a plugin conflict with JS/CSS optimizers like Autoptimize plugin and etc... please disable other plugins, delete all caches, do Ctrl+F5 on forum front and check it again.

Aha. That was it. We turned off Autoptimize and that solved all three of our issues! (I didn't mention the third which was the lack of  TinyMCE controls.)

We didn't have "Do not use visual editor when writing" checked so that wasn't an issue.

We successfully added photos, and did a block quote.

Excellent help, Tom. Thank you so much for your response. We are absolutely thrilled with your plug-in, so much that we bought three extensions. I'll get your five star review up shortly.

That's great. As far as I know there should be an option to disable Autoptimizer for forum pages. I don't know how exactly. You should ask this question to the plugin developers.

BTW I also see new errors on your website by 3rd party JS functions. I hope they don't affect any function:
