If I do this what will happen to the data that has been entered using the wpForo - User Custom Fields plug-in, will this still be retained?

Please don't deactivate wpForo and wpForo addons. You should deactivate other plugins. Also this is 90% theme issue, the CSS code which affects forum style comes from theme. I don't know what theme is this but it's written very non-professional. the CSS code affects general environment, it's not accurate. First try to change the theme or remove all custom CSS which affects font-awesome fa- classes.
