Hi,

I can't seem to change any of the settings in the Advanced Attachment settings (I want to enable users to delete their attachments in Media Library) but its just not that setting in particular but all settings on the page.

I'm logged in as Sys Admin and I can change other settings on forums no problem, just not in Advanced Attachment page (when I hit Save Options button nothing happens there's no interaction with the webserver)

When I check the browser console there's multiple invalid form control errors:

An invalid form control with name='wpforo_attach_options[groups][6][maximum_file_size]' is not focusable.

The same error happens on both my localhost dev install and an integration test site.

Screenshot attached.

@mark-hunt,

Please try the following:

Reset the settings to Default, using  Reset Options Button.

Then start setting up the Usergroup settings

Save the changes every time you finish setting up 1 of the usergroups. And continue setting up all the usergroup like that one by one with saving the changes.

Ok thanks for the reply, I get the same issue with Reset Options button - same set of errors so not possible to reset options on that settings page?

@mark-hunt,

Go to the DB, open wp_options table, open the Search, insert wpforo_attach_options in option name and use LIKE %...% as operator, then Delete wpforo_attach_options row.

@kylew Hi Kyle, Ok have deleted the DB row wpforo_attach_options (twice once on fresh backup and also a test site) same result still getting the same error?

I can make a test site available for you guys to take a look?

and to add a bit more context to the issue, I notice on the wpforo -> settings -> adv attachments page on Admin tab the max file size is set correctly to 12228 (12Mb) where php max file size is configured to 40Mb.

But on the Registered tab the size is 3145728 (3Gb!) ie over the 40Mb limit so I'm trying to set this to the same 12228 setting and at the same time configure the attachment delete to enable (its disabled currently - this is actually what I wanted to change) and its the file size setting that the error is being thrown on?  As the file size field is (somehow) not focusable?

Any update please?

Thanks,

Mark

@kylew Hi Kyle,

Sorry been side-tracked on a few other projects, but this issue is still bubbling away can we pick this up again now?

I have done some more work on the issue and believe I now understand what's going on....

I think the issue is that when the Maximum File Size setting on the Wpforo->settings->attachment page is (because of a backup import from another system or somehow) already set to greater than the system php upload_max_filesize setting it is impossible to change. You get the browser console error i reported above.

I checked it by on my localhost dev environment setting the php upload_max_filesize to greater then the 3Gb setting I had in wpforo->settings->attachment page (not sure how that was set so big btw) and then I can change the Maximum File Size setting no problem.

Set your php max_file_size to less than the current setting you have on the settings->attachment page and you should be able to recreate the issue?

Let me know as this is blocking my ability to revise any attachment setting thing on this page.

Thanks for your help

@kylew

and while we are here... perhaps you could let me know where the settings->attachment Max File Size setting is in a config file or db table so I can change it manually that would get me out of this fix for now...

Thanks!

@mark-hunt,

Attachments > Maximum File Size is depended on PHP Max Upload Size and PHP Max Post Size , which can be changed from your hosting.

Hi Kyle - I think that is exactly it - its not.

Look at the original screenshot I posted, my Max Upload and Post size are both 1GB from my php.ini file. However the console shows the error and the size limit in Wpforo->attachment->settings is 3Gb.

That is exactly the issue.

@kylew currently the attachment plugin is V3.0.4

Are you saying you know this is fixed in V3.1.1?

Thanks,

Mark

@mark-hunt,

Try to update to the last version, I thought you had the problem after the last update 3.1.1. My bad.

@tomson Hi Tom - well I've not issued any Paypal dispute, so I'll check it out and let you know.
