Google reCAPTCHA verification failed

Hello,

I just launched WP-Foro, all excited to have my users check it out, but they can't register.

They get the error: Google reCAPTCHA verification failed

My reCAPTCHA API Keys (version 2, "I'm not a robot" checkbox) are green/accepted.

I do have reCAPTCHA enabled and it works in other forms that I have on my site, but not for guests who come to FP Foro and need to register.  Is Version 2 perhaps not the right one to use?

Forums >> Tools >> A·kis·met is enabled

What am I missing?

Should I turn on WPress registration instead of WP Foro's reg?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I am stuck without users being able to register.

Thanks,

Vivie

So, I figured this out (sorta), so I thought I'd share my findings in case others run into this...

1) I noticed that there were two reCAPTCHA boxes in my login & register screens.

After some experimentation, I determined that if users skipped the first but checked the second, they could register and log on successfully.

I tried various things, searched forums, but couldn't figure out how to get rid of the duplicate boxes.

2) Through trial and error, I also determined that the second reCAPTCHA box was for agreeing to get an email notification for the account/password. That needed to be checked only. ???

3) SOLUTION: I turned OFF the wpForo login/registration/login forms from Forums>> Tools and enabled the default WordPress ones (again, on the same page - Forums >> Tools).

Now, my login pages have just one reCAPTCHA box and my guest users can register. 🙂

@vivie-sinou,

It seems you're using some other ReCaptcha plugin, thus there is such kind of conflict. You should either keep the current ReCaptcha plugin or disable it and use the wpForo built-in ReCaptcha.

@astghik - Thank you. Things are working now, so unless it's preferable to use your built-in plugin, I'll leave things alone. Are there any advantages to using wpForo's built-in ReCaptcha? I can try disabling the other ReCaptcha plugin I have been using, as long as it doesn't impact other forms on my site that also need this.

No, if the other ReCaptcha works fine no necessary to use wopForo built-in  ReCaptcha.
