Can I hide the pingbacks that display in the comments on old posts?

Hi coffeewithus3,
Please navigate to Dashboard > Settings > Discussion admin page, uncheck “Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks)”.

Doesn't this only turn them off for future pingbacks?
