Ok thanks - I appreciate you taking the time to help. I'll go back to the Web Builder support with this detail maybe they can help.

@mark-hunt,

Yeah, we got it, and I have sent it to the Dev, so I would let you know what we have.

@mark-hunt,

We need you to disable all plugins of your website, except wpForo and PM addon so only wpForo, PM and your builder would be active on the website, and check the PM workability.

After checking the builder, we got that the Builder with default setup doesn't affect on the PM addon. But the issue can be from the builder setup or other plugins + builder or plugins + builders setup, so need to check, do the plugins affect or not.

@kylew Ok so that's very useful. I've used a localhost install and restored a full backup of the live site. I've deactivated every plugin except the wpforo + pm extension and web builder pro - still the same result on writing a pm. Post editor shows no editor controls and pm editor just hangs as before.

I then took a completely fresh WordPress localhost install added wpforo + pm and web builder and it works fine! Edit controls show up in the standard post editor and able to edit pms.

So there's obviously something about my live setup that's blocking the editors displaying properly. But the differences on the builder between restore of the live site and a fresh install are minimal (I'm obviously checking what's different) - there's no custom code or anything, mostly the editor is modifying css related constructs. But there's obviously something.

Any ideas where to start looking?... but at least this is a step forward.

Really appreciate any help to resolve.

Mark

@mark-hunt,

I'm very sorry that we couldn't help to solve the problem, the only thing left to do that can help is to:

  1. Install all the plugins of the Live site in the localhost, and one by one check the function's workability after each plugin.
  2. One by one set up the localhost as the same in the live website, so you could find where the conflict hits.

It's going to be hard to do, but we can't find any other way/idea to find the issue maker.

@kylew I appreciate the reply.. this has now been resolved with a bit of help from Colibri Web Builder support.

It appears you can't use the Web Builder on a page with a Custom Post Type, or if you do then you have to go back into the page and edit with the Classic Editor afterward to restore some page settings.

This seems to mess with the page setup, but if you use the Classic Editor and just re- save the page it obviously restores some page settings, Tinymce shows up with all the edit controls and all is good.

I appreciate the time and effort in replying though.
