Hi...

seriously, I don't know how to describe the issue more than the title above.

1. I use wpForo Blog Cross Posting currently for default wp-post and a product custom. When I publish a post, it appears twice in the forum under a single topic, but with different description, and even an older feature image different from the feature image in the original post/

2. The product custom post is a datable and it uses a custom meta description in yoast. It does not always have excerpt, except if the product comes with description. Now, when the product does not have description, wpForo Blog Cross Posting wont attempt posting it.

Please I need these issue fix ASAP. Thanks

Hi @droidafrica,

The issue doesn't come from the "wpForo Blog Cross Posting" add-on. Even if you deactivate the add-on wpForo keeps getting double content. The core wpForo plugin also doesn't have such a problem. It seems you've customized the wpForo plugin, so it works in this way. Please revert back the customizations you've done, delete all caches and you'll not face such issue.

Hi @astghik. Thanks for getting back. I can confirm with 100% assurance that no single modification or customization has been done to either wpForo or BCP addon. I started noticing the issue since the last wpForo update. That is all I can remember.

ok @droidafrica,

Please follow the steps below and let us know how it works:

1. Deactivate (NOT uninstall if you have some important data) the wpForo plugin

2. Delete it, then find, install and activate the plugin

3. Delete all caches and check again

@astghik Thanks again. But I did this just yesterday before reporting this here.

  • - I deleted bot wpForo and BCP addon
  • - Clear cache, changed caching plugin
  • - Install latest versions of both plugins just yesterday, but the problem is still not solved.

Once the plugins are activated, organic traffic are affected negatively.

ok @droidafrica, thank you for testing that.

We've never faced such an issue. None of our test websites has such issues. If it's possible, please deactivate all plugins keep activated only the wpForo plugin, test it and let us know how it works.

@astghik I know you are trying to help, but I don't think I'm going to deactivate any plugin anymore. I'm actually drawn to wpForo because of wpDiscuz. wpForo won't be needed in the first place if I could find a a way of hosting wpDiscuz on a separate page, thereby reducing heavy comment on the post page. But since I could not find my way around to achieve that, I decided to try wpForo and the BCP addon, now meeting same road block.

I just went through your refund policy, and it seems I've past the first month of asking for refund. So I'm just gonna consider this purchase as a loss.

Hi @droidafrica,

Please don't worry about the refund, we'll do that for sure. That's not a problem.

Finding the real problem is more important for us.

We're trying to find why this is happening on your website. wpForo and The Cross-posting addon don't have such problem. They work on other websites without any issue. It seems some plugin is affecting the post saving process of WordPress and makes all these problems.

Once you deactivated all other plugins you should create a new post to see if the issue is fixed. The old cross-posted posts have no chance to be fixed. So I think you were only checking old posts and have not created new post after deactivating other plugins so you've not noticed that the problem is fixed.

Just a last test please...

Please deactivate other plugins again and create a new test post with the enabled cross-posting. Don't check old topics, just try to create new one. And, please send a link to new cross-posted topic. We're looking forward for this last test.

Thank you.

I just did the above, but still no luck.

Well, concerning sending you the link, I'm so sorry, as I was unable to keep the post since it was just a test post, plus I had to deactivate wpForo and the BCP addon immediately, so you might not even see the post if I send the link since wpForo is already deactivated.

Also note that my site is live, so I could not keep the post. But I have screenshots of every stage in the testing process, and I can send them to your email if you want me to.

Anyway, I have deactivated wpForo and BCP addon, and have changed my site password as well... just so you know. Thanks for your support anyway.
