Im running into an issue I cant figure out. Blog Cross Posting is showing in Add New Post just fine and propagates to WPForo fine. The synch works with comments and everything. Perfect. I just select the appropriate Blog Cross Post forum in the drop-down in Add New Post page and Im off to the races. But this only seems to be working for my own user and usergroup which is an Admin usergroup.

When I test with another usergroup such as Author which can also create new posts, the Blog Cross Post box shows up in the New Post editor, but only "TURNED OFF" is the choice and the normal drop-down list of all my WPForo forums are not listed.

This seems to be some sort of usergroup priv situation but I have looked everywhere to try to figure out where its turned on and an missing is. I am using MemberPress and User Role Editor but I dont think these are involved as this is in the WP side with New Post.  Nevertheless I poked around there too and found nothing obvious. Im thinking its perhaps a Blog Cross Post permissions flag by usergroup setting but Im not finding it in the WPAdmin.

Must be something simple, but I am definitely missing it! Help.

Hi,

Please check and make sure the Author user role is synchronised with the wpForo Author Usergroup.

Unfortunately no dice.  Im getting the same No Blog Cross Post dropdown forums in the WP Post editor whether I set the user to Author or Moderator. If I move the user to Administrator however I will get the drop-down.  I have synched several times and I have no issues seeing the user moving from usergroup/role as I test.

Here is the User Profile I am testing with. Role set to Author:

Here is the User Role Editor for Author:

Here is the WPForo Usergroups with Author synched to Author. Not sure about the "Standard Access" however. But even when changing this user to Moderator group with moderator access, the Cross Posting drop down is still not present:

Here is the Author Access listing showing the test User in question listed as a member:

Here is the Author usergroup permissions page:

I'm probably doing something stupid but I cannot figure it out. Obviously it works fine when I move someone to Administrator so its a permission somewhere.

Please follow the steps below:

  • Navigate to Dashboard > wpForo > Overview admin page
  • Fin the "General Maintenance" section
  • Click the "Delete User Cache" button
  • Delete other caches and check again.

@chris-rieman

We don't find such an issue on our test websites.

Please send the admin login details and the author usergroup user's login details to info[at]gvectors.com email address. I'll ask the developers to check the issue for you.
