In Advanced Attachments, “Thumbnail Max Width” and “Thumbnail Max Height” are enlarging images that are smaller than the configured dimensions. For example, if the max width is 800px and I upload a 400px-wide image, the plugin displays/generates it at the larger configured size instead of preserving the original size. I expected these settings to act as maximum dimensions only. Is this intended behavior or a bug?

Just following up on this issue. It is becoming urgent because the Advanced Attachments feature is currently unusable for us.
When a user uploads an image smaller than the configured maximum width and height, the plugin enlarges the image to those maximum dimensions instead of keeping the original image size.
Could you please advise what setting or code change is required to prevent smaller images from being enlarged?

I just tried adding images right here in this reply. The images are NOT displaying at their actual size.
So this does not appear to be an issue specific to my website. Please advise how to make uploaded images display at their original size unless they exceed the configured maximum dimensions.

We can confirm that your observation is helpful. If the same behavior occurs here, this does not appear to be specific to your website configuration or a conflict with your theme or other plugins.
We'll check how the Thumbnail Max Width and Thumbnail Max Height settings are currently handled and whether smaller images should be preserved at their original dimensions rather than enlarged to the configured maximum size.
I'll update this topic once we have more information from our development team.

I wanted to follow up regarding the image sizing problem with Advanced Attachments.
I purchased the plugin for $29 specifically because I wanted members to be able to insert images properly into forum topics. Unfortunately, because of the current sizing behaviour, I am not really able to use the plugin for the purpose I purchased it for.
I want to emphasize that I have been very happy with wpForo itself and a significant part of my website now depends on it, so I am not looking to make an issue over $29. I would much rather see the problem fixed and continue using Advanced Attachments.
However, at the moment I have essentially paid for an add-on that I cannot use as intended.
Can you please let me know whether this image sizing behaviour can be fixed, or whether you have another solution for displaying uploaded images at their correct dimensions?
If it cannot be resolved, perhaps we can discuss what to do about the Advanced Attachments purchase.
