Dear admin,

one issue I am facing since last 8 months and need urgent solution on that as visitors and engaged people on our website are complaining and quite unsatisfied. I have purchased the add on to remove our problems and complexity but it has still not been resolved. Please help me in this case.

 

First: Reduce the steps of uploading images. i.e. we dont want attach files and insert into post option. Just people can select/drag multiple or single images and can upload directly on post just as other blogging sites like facebook/gmail/quora/reddit. The 2 extra options of add files and insert into post creates unwanted time consumption. This is the complain of users and not me as they r the only one who will be using website

 

Second : This I am mentioning since long and I have seen queries from others users also but still not resolved. The images inserted are in vice versa order or sometimes not even in order i.e. images are inserted randomly. I want the images to be inserted in first in first out order. I have seen codes in plugin, may be this is due to images uploaded using creation time or the images that gets uploaded first are assigned a code and hence this random order problem occurs.

 

The solution to second problem is resolving first only. Please remove extra steps of uploading images. Just have an option of add images and people will select single image or multiple using control and shift key thats it.

 

I need a urgent solution as this is causing damage to my website customers. Please.

The feature already exists since the 1.3.0 version of the wpForo Advanced Attachments addon. Just navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Add-ons > Attachments admin page, make sure the "Attachment Dialog Auto Upload" is enabled. Besides, users can: 

  • Drag and Drop file for uploading the images
  • Copy image from PC or other devices and paste in editor

Dear Admin,.

I thing u are not getting my query or requirement. attachment dialogue auto upload is enabled already but the thing which i want is just choose file that appears at bottom of this editor and user can just start uploading. I dont want the editor to get opened for attaching file option and insert image option. More over the thing which u have told will be added in future versions is a bug and not a feature. If somebody uploads a image, It should automatically be in a sequence in which it gets uploaded. First image upload will always show at first and not at last.This image issue is a big issue for non tech savy persons. If u have the code and u know where to put it, tell me i will do. Contact with ur developers and resolve the issue please its a urgent request.

Astghik already explained that we've added new feature which allow you drag and drop file into the post editor. This is the fastest way to attach and this is already added.

I'm sorry but there is no other option in this addon. This step allows people insert inline attachments. Users can add images in any part of the post text. Inline attachments is the most advanced attachment option in forum softwares. So, this addon brings you the most advanced three attachment options:

1. Drag and drop uploading and attachment

2. Inline attachment option

3. User specific attachment gallery. User don't upload the same image dozens of times, it uses the one attached file in many posts. It also saves your disk-space. And it's very user-friendly. They can find own attachments in one place.

 

I'm not talking about other dozens of very useful and advanced options you have with this addon.

99% of the addon users are happy to have such attachment options, so we can't change those and make it a simple [browse files] button. If you want it, just uninstall the addon and use the default wpForo attachment option. We'll refund the addon whenever you decided to not use it.

Yes, I agree with this. We'have dozens of new request per day and hundreds of per month. And this is not the only aspect why the sequence issue is not fixed. The main issue is that when you select and upload multiple files there is no FIRST and LAST uploaded file. There is no attachment IDs yet. The simplest solution is asking users upload attachments and insert into pot after each upload one by one in posts where the file sequence is important. This works 100% correct.

We'll continue searching solution for this issue for sure.

Dear Sir,

First of all thx for a prompt response and its a great plugin.

95% of people are using mobile now a days, hence drag and drop will not work in mobile. I know the editor gives functionalities which u have mentioned. But my website users are complaining that the steps are very much which can be reduced because their only motive is to attach images. Moreover, if we use default wp foro plugin, attach files option only gives a single image per post to attach but we want multiple images to insert in a single post but without editor. Now a days any plugin or addon is developed also ensures that the thing which can be done in 1 step will not require multiple steps. Also lay men and non tech savy people find it difficult to use more stepy options website. We also want to remove that code(image id) that appears while attaching images and non tech people may press enter or space in between which will create issues in image posting. Thumbnail would be a goo option after image gets inserted. No where u see a code appearing for images. Kindly provide me coding where I can solve for attaching multiple images but without a editor or each time i can click on browse files but we need multiple attachments per post(no matter if all multiple images are not selected at once). Hope to get a solution speedy from u.thanks

This is your point of view and your requirements. We're always open for suggestions and thoughts. The three advantages of this addon I mentioned are more important, because they provide more options for uploading. I've already explained that. It doesn't matter the user use mobile or not, and I don't think that 95% forum users are mobile users, maybe it's only correct for your website, but it's not general.

I'm really sorry but there is not a single place where you can change something in code, the whole functionality come from all files. i only can say the main PHP functions are located in /wpforo-advanced-attachments/includes/ directory, files are:

  • class.wpForoAttachmentsListTable.php
  • class.wpForoAttachmentsTools.php
  • class.wpForoAttachUploadHandler.php

 

If you have exact questions, I can provide more specific information to help you make your preferred changes.

I would be happier if u provide ur gmail,whatsapp or any mode of contact, so that I can directly get in touch with u for the resolution of the above said statement. My main issue is than people using mobile are not able to drag and drop. They can only click and attach files and that also, they r finding it difficult due to more steps. If u provide ur any of the contact medium, i wont disturb u again and may be i get a happier and quicker solution of the same!

Dear admin,

I have talked with my website users and we have come to a conclusion that they are facing issues while attaching images. If we see the case of gmail or facebook, there's no need of a extra step like insert into post if the file is already being attached. Attached itself means that we are attaching the image to a post. Kindly remove insert into post option or tell me the exact coding in all those 3 files how can i do that. I will be grateful to you for this. I understand that the addon has its features and benefits, but this is the thing we need is that attach files it will automatically be attached and inserted without clicking on a button that is a second step for us(unwanted). Moreover we dont want to show the code of image appearing as people may click on spacebar or accidentally they may abrupt the post/image structure. No where in the sites a code appears like that either on fb/gmail/blogging sites. thumbnail of image to be shown there can be a good option. I have posted this issue at support email also but not got resolution yet. As this is a priority issue for us, hence expect a quick resolution from your side. its true that u cant update the plugin for all users, thatsy i request u to provide me the codes and the file names of those 3 php files where i can insert them. thanks in advance

I'm sorry but the changes you're asking for is a brand new addon. In other words we have to create a new addon for you to make it as you want. There is no any code that you can add somewhere and get the changes you're asking. And we don't create custom addons here. If you want to have a new file attachment addon with all requirements you've mentioned here please contact to gVectors Custom Development team via sales[at]gvectors.com email address. They'll assess the work and provide with a price for custom addon development. Your current addon will be refunded and you'll pay for the custom work. But please note, that custom addon development doesn't cost a few dozens of USD.

P.S. Please don't compare a forum plugin with Google or Facebook. You should compare it with forum softwares. Almost all professional forum plugins like XenForo, vBulletin and others file attachment processes are based on two and more steps. The idea of two steps is providing inline image adding options and more... Also, those professional forum softwares insert attach code not a thumbnail. There are many reasons why it's a code.

They'll check and let you know. In any case the changes you're asking for requires about 70% and maybe more changes in the current addon, it's not a small change to add it.
