Please don't say it doesn't work, you should say it doesn't exist for non-admins.

Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools admin page and set 0 the option "min number of post users must have to attach a file".

Also please note, that Guests (non-loggedin users) can not attach file. The button is not available for guests. You should not enable "Can attach file" permission for "Read Only" forum access, it'll not work for guest.

We just disabled Attachment button for Guest, please don't enable it. In near future releases we'll enable the Default Attachment button (not the addon) for guests.

Thank you!

My understand:

1, You have already change the setting for me - now only registered user can attach files.

2, I should not touch this setting until your next updating/version of wpForo.

3, Your next version/updating will:  "enable the Default Attachment button (not the addon) for guests." ---------- is this mean: at that time, if I use the  "wpForo Advanced Attachments" addon, the "attach files" button will exist for guests?

Thanks.

Yes.

You should not enable file attachment for guests until we add it in core, but I can't say this will be added in next version, but we'll do our best to add it as soon as possible.

It means if you disable the Attachment Addon you'll be able to enable the default attachment button for Guests. When you enable Advanced Attachment addon, it doesn't work for guest. Because it's not designed for guests, it's a user specific media library and file  uploading tool, guests can't have media library so the addon will not be available for guests. We'll only make some change to disable addon for guest and enable the default attachment button.
