Hi,
I have been using wpDiscuz for some time now. It is an awesome commenting plugin. 🙂
Most of things work just fine but I noticed that all the authors of old comments show up as guests. For example, the comment from posts author from an year earlier is also labelled as "Guest". However, the comments have proper labels.
I recently messed up my `postsmeta` table. Did this change the author labels for old comments. If it did, how can I correct the author labels again?
For example, the comment from a post author now labels him as "Guest". How can I again get the "Author" label back on those comments?
Thanks.
Hi @wpdiscuznoob,
Thank you for contacting us.
Could you please send the admin login details to info[at]gvectors.com email address to allow us to check it?
Hi @astghik,
I have sent the email. New comments show the right user roles. Only the old ones label everyone as Guest.
Thanks.
Yes, I see, thank you, however, you've forgotten to add your website URL. Please send it as well.
@astghik
I have sent the URL now. 🙂
@astghik
Do you have any update regarding this issue?
There is no problem if the author roles on old comments can't be changed. There are just two comments anyway. 🙂
Thanks.
ok, we've found the reason for the issue. Somehow the user Id and the comments are not connected with each other. Probably the user was deleted and the new user was added with the same email and name, but in this case, IDs are not the same.
You should find and change the userID for the current comments.
Hi @astghik
You should find and change the userID for the current comments.
Could you please tell me where these comments would be located?
Thanks.
Thank you @astghik 🙂
