Thank you very much for a great plugin!
I'm trying to integrate it in my website, and so far everything seems to be great!

One minor problem I noticed is that when linking directly to a comment (for example http://example.com/sometopic#comment-12345), that this does not work as expected when using the great "Lazy load comments on scrolling" option.

Additionally, I have done a lot of CSS styling to make it look like my old comments. While doing so I did notice a few things that could make this plugin even better.

For example:

  • Define a specific image for trackback's
(right now hardcoded and no real option to change this without changing one of the plugin assets)
  • Woud be nice if the editor (incl. header, notify options, and post button) would be encapsulated in a <div> so it can be styled as one "unit".
  • Future support for a simple RichText editor would be great (ie. as seen in this forum for example).
  • Better documentation (or better glasses for me, incase it is documented) for the filters one could use to customize certain aspects. (I'm using filters for wpdiscuz_after_labelwpdiscuz_comment_link_img, and wpdiscuz_comment_author, and I'm not even sure if it's safe to use these).

I'd be more than happy to pay for a plugin with these kind of features.

Thank you Hansaplastique,

Please find my answers below:

Ok, thank you for letting us know, we're going to check this...

Additionally, I have done a lot of CSS styling to make it look like my old comments. While doing so I did notice a few things that could make this plugin even better.

The main idea of wpDiscuz is bringing new and modern look and feel to default WordPress comments. So it's really hard task to install wpDiscuz and try to get back the old design. I can say even it's not possible. You'll affect all wpDiscuz features. You should only make color and background changes to adapt it to your theme.

Define a specific image for trackback's
(right now hardcoded and no real option to change this without changing one of the plugin assets)

Sure, this is already in our to-do list.

Woud be nice if the editor (incl. header, notify options, and post button) would be encapsulated in a <div> so it can be styled as one "unit".

wpDiscuz 3.3.0 comes with custom comment forms and comment form fields. All parts of comment form will be dynamic and manageable. And everything will be wrapped in divs for sure.

Future support for a simple RichText editor would be great (ie. as seen in this forum for example).

Not planned yet. This can terribly affect plugin performance. However i think it may be added as an option.

Better documentation (or better glasses for me, incase it is documented) for the filters one could use to customize certain aspects. (I'm using filters for wpdiscuz_after_label, wpdiscuz_comment_link_img, and wpdiscuz_comment_author, and I'm not even sure if it's safe to use these).

Sure, we're preparing a new Doc for 3.3.0 version. It'll include all hooks as well.

Thank you Tom for the prompt reply.
I totally understand things being in development - thank you for your considerations!

I'll be keeping an eye on wpDiscuz, I really like how it works. 🙂
