Hi,

I have the option enabled where it says to automatically notify users of replies. However, my concern is with guest who enter fake email addresses.  Is there a concern here or will this send a bunch of bounces?

I'd suggest you check out the new (beta) version of the wpDiscuz plugin. It has a built-in reCAPTCHA for the Subscription Bar.
