A correct last posts widget must show only one time in the list a post from the same topic and when you click on it to take you to the oldest unread post so you can read all the unread posts.
This there is not in wpforo and there is not something here.
Can you do this with custom work ?
And if yes how much it will cost?

You are right, it should at least have an option to show all or only the oldest.

This and to be able to choose from which categories to show or not show.
Is a widget to attract people to read, if there is a spam topic or not so important and you have ,
lets say from 30 last posts the 15 double another 5 not important , not only is ugly but the 10 posts lets say, they get lost between the bad.
If you think that these days most people use smartphones it becomes worst and this fix is more important.
One example from kunena that is for me a problematic forum,full of bugs , but has this option.
