I had test if i send private message to specify users, it able to showing up at the forum notification.
however if i send private message with using user groups function. it doesn't trigger the forum notification. It just only view if the users click on the message, it won't show there have a new message at the forum notification ring bell there.

Do we have any chance to make it works? So admin or editor able to send to certain groups and inform our users?

Hi,

This is designed to work in this way. No issues are found here. The restriction is in place to prevent potential damage to the email SMTP service in case of spam activity. If messages were sent to all members of a registered user group, it could overload the SMTP service.

@astgh but do i able to send the bell notifications instead of email SMTP? So everytime customer login there will have a bell notification showing new message to them. Not using email to inform them receive message.

@astgh

it’s doesn’t. When i private message to user groups. The bell notifications doesn’t include it. It just happens when private to those user without using the group function.

What can we do if we just want to send to all user groups, the bell notifications include it and without send the email notifications to avoid the overload SMTP?

etc, pm registered users -> bell notification show up.

( SMTP able to disable by admin and apply the bell notification to user via user group)

@tapprop,

Yes, you're right. It's not included because the user ID is missing in this case.

However, when the user is logged in, a pop-up message at the top-right part of the screen notifies them of a new message
