Massive performance issues because of private messages.

This performance issue cannot be resolved in a short time. However, the developers have decided to globally change the database structure of the wpForo Private Message addon in a future version. A new major version of the add-on will be released to improve its performance.

That said, there is no ETA for the release, as it is not just a bug-fix update but involves significant changes to the add-on's codes.

@astgh ok, but is there a "rough" timetable for it. The point is, we have major issues, so right now its really difficult since we have also 404 errors and it seems that this behavior is getting worse and worse. So i can understand that this is not a "small" issue, but on the other hand its difficult since we dont know at all how this will be fixed, so do we talk about days, weeks, months...

@christian-pust Thats really not cool is it.... especially as you're getting 404 errors.

I know it might sound basic, but have you tried uninstalling it and adding it again?

no jet, since my client told me it seems to be a slow ongoing process. But of course i can try this as well. If there is any change, i will let you know.

We don't find such an issue on our test websites. Could you please send the admin login details to info[at]gvectors.com email address? I'll ask the developers to check the issue for you.

The developers have checked your website and did not find any issues. With the Query Monitor plugin installed, the lower page loading performance is only delayed by about 1 second.

They have also checked the database indexes, and no issues were found there either.

The only possible reason for the issue could be the number of online users. You may need to contact your hosting support and ask them about this problem. They will be able to provide better guidance on how to resolve it.

Lastly, please ensure that the wpForo tables are using InnoDB and not MyISAM

Hi, sorry for late reply. The last days i did some deeper tests. First of all - the query monitor donest show the correct time. Simple testing the pageload and take the time is much more effective. Today i disabled ALL active plugins at the page (only wpforo + the pm addon is active), also use the dev page, so no users online - with my test user that have a lot of active PN`s the pageload was between 7 up to 10sec. So i think this is not normal or better say, the reason seems to be that all messages are loaded at once - some active plugins + an some users online and the result are even worse loading times. I could send you again a user that have a lot of PN`s so you can check on your own, but in fact - this performance issue is real. So i know this is an annoying situation but right now we have a hudge forum and no real solution.

@christian-pust Proper gaslighting you bro. 

I get the same issues, dont let them tell you otherwise. The time it takes for my PM's to loads can be over 30 seconds sometimes. Its a joke. But ask for help here and they tell you, "nah, nothing is wrong, you're imagining things"

We will be able to assist you better if we can observe the same issue. Could you please provide detailed steps to help us reproduce it? Additionally, it would be helpful if you could share a video or screenshots where the issue is visible, such as in Query Monitor or similar tools.

Please give me an address were to send you the access data. I will also include detailed information how to reproduce the issues. At the very end - its as simple as also @percysgrowroom described it - if there are a lot of PN`s at the inbox - than there are extreme loading times!
