Hi @jan-hartmann,

There are two possible reasons that may cause the issue:

1. The wpForo was deactivated when you'd tried to activate the wpForo Private Messages.

2. The second reason the version of the wpForo is too old, you should update the plugin to the latest version.

@jan-hartmann

If for some reason you cannot install this plugin using WordPress plugin upload system please do that with this alternative way. Unzip, and then upload the /wpforo-private-messages/ folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory using an FTP application like FileZilla; or any other FTP program is fine also. Make sure you have not double /wpforo-private-messages/wpforo-private-messages/ directories nested inside each other, please correct this before you continue. Then in WordPress, go to WordPress Dashboard > Plugins, and then activate the wpForo Private Messages addon.

I did it as you wrote me that is the result

The plugin can not be activated because it produces a fatal error.

Warning: include (/var/www/vhosts/project-play.de/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wpforo-private-messages/includes/class-folders.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/vhosts/project-play.de/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wpforo-private-messages/wpforopm.php on line 45

Hi @jan-hartmann

The error says some files are not uploaded successful or those permissions are set incorrectly in your server file system. Maybe your disk space is full, or the server file permission settings are incorrect. Please deactivate the wpForo PM addon, then delete addon folder /wpforo-private-messages/ in /wp-content/plugins/ directory using Hosting cPanle > File Manager tool or some FTP Client, for example FileZilla

And please make sure the folder is fully deleted. Then unzip PM addon installation pack and upload it in /wp-content/plugins/ directory again. Then navigate to Dashboard > Plugins admin page and activate it again.
