In the private messages, the attached images are showing up in the WP media library. Is there some way to move these to a different folder? I feel like my users are going to clutter up the media library with all types of images and they will get mixed in with the website images.

If not is there some way to protect these as anyone could figure out the link if they know how WP stores content?

Hi @jason-toth,

You can prevent wpForo inserting attachments in WP media Library by disabling Insert Forum Attachments to Media Library option in Forums > Settings > Features Tab. Once this option is enabled, all new attachments will not be added to the media library.

Okay, thanks so much. So then if I disable this function, where do the images go? Will public people still be able to access the attachements?

@jason-toth,

The location will be in the /uploads/ folder like all WordPress images, but they'll be in a separate folder /wpforo/default_attachemtns/. And yes, people will be able to see them on forum.

Okay, thank you. If I want to have the images show up inline versus an attachment I have to upgrade to the plugin for attachments, right? Looks like default attaches them, but you have to click on the image to see it. Jason

@jason-toth,

Yes, and more. The wpForo Advanced Attachments is a powerful system, so it brings lots of features. You can read the description tab and see the screenshots: https://gvectors.com/product/wpforo-advanced-attachments/
