The gif shows when you insert it, but when viewing the forum it just shows the loading indicator indefinitely.
How can this be resolved?

Update: This seems to be a bug only on replies
Posting a Giphy gif in the topic works as expected, but it does not work for replies per above.

I believe there may be a JavaScript error on your website, which is causing issues with the lazy loading of Giphy images. Could you please provide the URL of the website where I can observe this problem?

@blackraz Thank you, that was the issue.
I have the Perfmatters plugin installed which lazy loads images.
I fixed it by adding wpf-gif-lazy to their exclusion list.
