Hiya, I've spoken to the tech people here and they are unwilling to give you FTP access to the server, is it still worth providing you with access to the admin site or will that not be enough?

Any update on this?
I'm getting the same error right now.
Things are working well when uploading from a cellphone, but when trying to upload from a PC (even smaller size pictures), I get the same error message shown above.

This is the link to the specific thread. The pictures in the thread were added using a smartphone, while a PC would give the error message trying to upload that same picture. From the phone there were no issues to post the same picture:

Just tried to load the image that causes the issue (1.9 Mb jpg) and it failed in this forum too (same error message). I can do it from a phone though.
