Hello members,
I have installed wpDiscus on my WordPress, My WordPress header already has font awesome icon installed version 4.7.0. So on those pages where the comment is enabled with wpDiscus, it doesn't load some icons on my page other section like, facebook, twitter social media icon.
How to solve this issue, I have checked some other thread, there you have suggested removing the font awesome link from the header. But I need to use it. Because some pages commenting is disabled. So for those pages, I need to have font awesome, plus for the mega menu, footer and all.
Please help, I want to use this product without bug like this.
Regards
Hi cashcube,
Please navigate to Dashboard > Comments > Settings > Styling admin page, make sure the "Do not load Font Awesome css lib" option is disabled.
Hi cashcube,

Thank you that solved my problem. What I did is, I installed version 5 font awesome on my header & did necessary changes on whole website code & everything works fine.
Hey, I'd like to jump in here, as I was searching the forum today and came across this thread... it's very similar to what's going on with me.
I have FA5 Pro installed as part of my WordPress framework, and it's an in-house theme (no template or visual builder). Up until I think 2 plugin updates ago, it seemed to be working fine. But what I'm now seeing is the user-cog icon no longer showing and I'm getting the classic FA5 alert icon instead (screenshots). I've toggled the button to not load styles, as I already have them enqueued.
In the console, I'm noticing that SVG is in use, but it doesn't seem to like where it's currently living. Below the SVG, there's a commented out, traditional FA insert.
Is there a way to override the plugin, or go back to the traditional <i> method and just skip over SVG for my use? It's not going to impact me to have it, so I'm not worried about it for this project, unless you can assist in why this might be happening now and what I can do to rectify it. I'm looking for advice to override the plugin, if there's any.
FA5 Pro is fully up-to-date and all other parts of the site are functioning as they should. Just this little section of the wpDiscuz plugin isn't having any of this.
Thanks!
Derek
Hi derekneuts,
Have you already disabled the "Do not load Font Awesome css lib" option, as mentioned in the post above?
Before replying to you, I wanted to try something. I updated my current build of FontAwesome 5 Pro (v5.0.3) to FontAwesome 5 Pro (v5.0.13) and while all files were successfully updated, and dynamic cache and Cloudflare were flushed, no change. Looking at the code again, staring me right in the face, was the SVG embed right in the console window for the plugin output. So, I went back to the FA5 source and uploaded the SVG-WITH-JS files (both CSS and JS dependencies), enqueued them, and uploaded.
That solved it.
I hope this helps out someone else who may have done a custom WordPress build with their own framework!
