Hi,
we noticed when some of our customers leave a review they are not matched up and marked as a "verified customer".
This seems to be happening when they are not actually signed up for an account but the email in the order and review definitely matches up.
How can we fix this so the reviews match up for all our customers and not just the ones that checked to have a user account created for them during the checkout process?
Hi dannyn,
I'm sorry, but don't follow you. Please use some screenshots to explain the problem.
Hi,
think would be easier to try and explain again:
its all in regards to the "verified customer" symbol we have show up on product reviews.
where it works: customer chose to create an account while making a purchase (so he is listed in the "users" section of wp)
where it doesn't work: there is no user for the email used to submit a review but there is an order with the email used to submit a review (so it is indeed a true customer they just chose not to have a user account created for them when they were making the purchase with us)
we would really need to have the customers from the second case above recognized as a lot of them just have no reason really to have a user account with us but are of course legitimate customers and their reviews should be marked as such
let me know if this makes more sense now
Could you please disable the "Use guest email to detect registered account" and check again? This option is located in Dashboard > Comments > Settings > General admin page.
More info here: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-documentation/settings/general-settings/#guest_email_to_detect_account
tried, but as expected, that just makes almost all reviews not marked as verified buyers...
Hey guys, I'd really appreciate some help on the subject. We've been trying a bunch of things to make this work, looked through the documentation and searched through the forum. Could you take a look at our staging site?
If I can send a message privately to you with the information, that'd be great.
Hi,
I was very detailed above, not sure how you can't get what the problem is... we just want all our true customers to have a proper "badge" on their reviews/comments making it clear to every visitor on the site that they are true verified buyers.
The option above you said to deactivate, when enabled it helps a lot, as most of our users are never really logged in since they don't have a reason to be. So that option when enabled does indeed match up a lot of the comments with the reigstered user list in wordpress and those comments do get the proper "verified buyer" badge displayed next to their reviews.
What remains the issue are the customers which didn't want a user account created for them during the checkout process... when they leave a review, even with the helpful option to match up users not logged in while commenting, as they are obviously not in the user list in wordpress but only in the orders list in the woocommerce section, their reviews/comments do not get the "verified buyer" badge displayed... and this is what we are trying to fix here...
so in essence, a fallback that would check if a commenter/reviewer email is somewhere in the woocommerce orders doesn't seem to exist for a case when 1) user is not logged in and 2) user is not a registered user actually (not in the users list in wordpress on our site)
you can also read my second reply in this thread again above if I am not being clear again but I think that there is honestly no way that you don't understand the issue we are having
Hi @dannyn,
I'm really sorry but this cannot be supported by wpDiscuz side. wpDiscuz doesn't have any "verified customer". This is all custom coding and we cannot support custom codes.
well, considering a lot of your customers probably use woocommerce you should seriously think about supporting this by providing a solution or adding as a feature...
