Hi, after a lot of trial and error with multiple plugins related to comment forms, I found wpDiscuz the best and the most beautiful, but I just want an option which doesn't exist in it yet. I want to remove the email field from the comment form or just make it optional. I know the ability to alert users with email won't be functional afterwards but my website's viewers are not comfortable with complexity, even as little as entering an email !

I'm a little bit familiar with coding but I don't want to corrupt the whole plugin unknowingly.

So please, can you tell me where to edit to do that ?

thanks in advance.

Hi MghSoft,

Thank you for your interest in wpDiscuz plugin. We're sorry but there isn't such an option yet. We use Wordpress core functions to insert a new comment and those don't allow create a comment without user email address. However we'll think about this. We'll add function to generate dummy emails and pass to comment creator functions. This will allow to hide author email field on front-end and stop validation errors.

thanks, I'll gladly look forward to see this feature in your plugin.

right now I'm using "Advanced Comment Form" plugin and it allows to remove the url and email fields, thought it might come handy to you.

Now  your http://wpdiscuz.com/wpdiscuz-documentation/ page General Settings drop-down box shows the options to check if comment author must add name or add email.  My version 4.02 installed at www.tdmsresearch.com does not show this option in wpDiscuz General Settings.

My WordPress Dashboard/Settings/Discussion has the "Comment author must fill out name and email" box unchecked.

I would like to make optional the inclusion of email address.

Problem solved. After some searching I found that could make all these changes and more by going to Dashboard/WPDISCUZ/Forms and then clicking on the edit icon (pencil) fields such as email to alter their settings.

Very good app!
