Is there any way wpdisquz can work without font awesome? I really want to get read of it, i'm trying to make my site lighter.

I'm specifically talking about:
wpdiscuz/assets/third-party/font-awesome-4.6.3/css/font-awesome.min.css

Could you post the code to deregister this style?

Thanks!

I'm sorry but there is no way to use wpDiscuz without font-awesome at the moment. We'll take this under consideration and make some alternative.

Hi there, Has any progress been made in the last year and  a half to make it possible to remove font awesome? I think wpDiscuz is the best commenting plugin I've come across, but I don't want font awesome slowing down my site. Unfortunately, with the current emphasis on mobile speed, I'll have to look for an alternative plugin if it is still not possible to remove it.

Thanks,

Anna

Hi @redpillersi,

yes, you can. Please navigate to Dashboard > Comments > Settings > Styling admin page, enable the "Do not load Font Awesome css lib" option.

@redpillersi,

have you deleted all caches before checking? As far as I see you're using the WP Rocket plugin. I recommend excluding wpDiscuz CSS file from this plugin settings. Instruction here: https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/977-exclude-files-from-optimize-css-delivery

I'm not using WP Rocket but cloudflare with Rocket loader. Eventually W3 Total cache.

ok @redpillersi,

Please delete all caches and press CTRL+F5 (twice) on the frontend, check it again and let us know how it works. Also, we need to know if you have installed some wpDiscuz add-ons. If yes, let us know which one.

No. I have standard wpDiscuz.

I cleared caches and what i see now that parent comments are the same as nonparent comments (font, boxes, icons).

But when i enable font awesome it is only working on parent comments.

Maybe it is has to do with checked in fast velocity minify?

Or loading scripts in footer?

@redpillersi,

This option shouldn't have such behavior. Please record a video of this issue.

It is working now. 15 minutes after clearing cache 🙂

Please check here

For my proposal to add an option to wpDiscuz.
" Can you add option to non parent and parent comments will be same size, same avatar, same buttons size etc? Thanks!"
