Many of the comments displayed in wpDiscuz are pulled from Facebook via SNAP and are saved together with their avatars in the Wordpress database (see attached screenshots).
If I deactivate wpDiscuz the Facebook avatars are displayed in the Wordpress comments section.
Why are they not displayed in wpDiscuz?
Please advise how to solve.
Thanks
I have the same problem. And I have already reported about it.
When will you fix it?

You can login using Facebook on wpDiscuz Demo page and leave some comment to see that it works fine. http://wpdiscuz.com/wpdiscuz-4/
If it doesn't work on your website it means the social login plugin is incompatible with wpDiscuz or the comments are migrated with incorrect avatar storage logic. In any case this is a site specific issue or social login plugin specific issue.
This is not about social login plugin. This is about import comments from facebook.
There is the plugin SNAP, that allows to import comments to posts from facebook. So when I import comments from Facebook and use the native wordpress comments - everything is fine: the facebook avatars for the imported comments are shown correctly. If I try to use other comments plugins - everything is also fine. But if I try to activate wpDiscuz plugin - the avatars are not shown.
I tried to contact SNAP about this problem, and they told me:
Plugin uses only standard WordPress APIs for inserting comments. It fills comment_author_url. It hooks get_avatar WP function for it's comments to grab avatars from Facebook. Try to contact wpDiscuz support to find the issue.
Look, many users have the same problem:
What should we do?
Hello,
I'm working with SNAP too and imported the first comment from Facebook. In backend mode of WordPress/BuddyPress everything is correct. On frontend mode it shows only that 1 comment exists but does not show the comment itself, nothing.
Any solutions?
Please navigate to Dashboard > Comments > Settings admin page, click on [Reset Comments Optimization] button, then delete all caches again and do Ctrl+F5 on front.
Hi Tom,
Followed your advice navigated to the point in backend mode, deleted all caches and purged the cdn too(!), went back to the article page clicked Ctrl+F5. The result is the same as before, see https://www.edunetz.org/tipps/ratgeber-social-media-ist-das-neue-nikotin/
Kindest regards, Thorsten
Could you please delete all trashed comments (empty trash) then delete caches and check it again.
There's no comment in trash for deleting. Edunetz.org is a fresh site. But found out now that the plugin 'https://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-user-testimonials/' has an inconvenience on WordPress comments because it uses comments function for testimonials too (deactivated the other plguin). Will inform the plugin author.
But now I've the same issue other users described above - the facebook avatar is only visible in backend and not in frontend mode.
I'm sorry but wpDiscuz doesn't compatible with SNAP issues. We only support social login provided by these two plugins:
- Super Socializer
- WP Social Login

Ok thanks for your answer. Maybe it could be a great step ahead for you to make it compatible - SNAP has 200,000 downloads and the others 30,000 each.
Think about it please 🙂
